Department of Defense - MOUPALLIATIVE CARE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN HOSPICE AND THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE

The Hospice and Palliative Care Association (HPCA) and the Department of Defence (DOD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement a palliative care programme at St Luke’s Hospice in Kenilworth on Wednesday 29 June 2010. Dr Liz Gwyther, CEO of HPCA, and Major General Lifeni Make of DOD described the partnership between government and the private sector as “a dream come true”, as end-of-life issues are a key priority for the DOD. This collaboration will ensure that compassionate, palliative care will be provided to all members of the DOD and their dependents. It will be realised by training and mentorship of the health care providers and caregivers within the DOD. . . . . Read more icon
