Employed by St Bernard's Hospice on 1 April 2003 as the Nursing Manager and introduced a more formal, structured system for home care and In-Patient Unit, as well as certain policies and procedures.

After applying for the General Manager's position, the board of directors appointed me on 1 March 2005 as General Manager to date and I was elected as the EPHA chairperson in August 2009.

In August 1986 to May 1994 I worked as a community health nurse for the then Regional Services Council and senior Prof Nurse, where I supervised 3 fixed and 6 mobile clinics. During that time I got my qualifications in Primary Health Care and completed a course in Family Planning and Geriatric Care.

In 1989 I studied via Unisa and qualified in 1992 with my diploma in Advanced Nursing Science with Nursing Administration and Community Health Nursing as majors.

In April 1997 I was appointed as Nursing Manager at the Queenstown Private Hospital and promoted to General Manager in August 1997 until February 2002, before relocating to East London.
