RESEARCH

All research that involves HPCA staff, patients, families and/or facilities must be approved by the HPCA Research Ethics Committee (REC) before a study begins.

An application form can be accessed below.

The document entitled “Reviewers Evaluation Form” will guide researchers on the criteria the Committee considers when reviewing studies.

To assist researchers in drawing up the Information to Participants and Informed Consent document, please make use of the “Basic Elements of Informed Consent” document.

Ethics approvals are valid for one year only – to ensure continuous approval of a study, a “Recertification” form must be completed and submitted to the REC a couple of months prior to the anniversary of the approval.
